Connecting my Beolab 4000 speakers to sonos

Dear B&O friends,

I have my Beolab 4000 connected with a BeoCenter 2 that i intend to sell (I do not use it as much as I should).

I would like to connect my speakers to a Sonos product so I can play my NAS music collection with the B&O speakers via iPad. How can I set it up correctly?

That should be fairly easy……without changing anything in your current setup.

Buy a Sonos Port and connect the outputs of it to the input port of the connection box of the Beocenter 2 using a standart RCA cable.

You can hide the Sonos box away.

After that you will - of course - have to configure the Sonos Port and activate the A-AUX in the menu of the BC2  -  see the User Guides for howto.

To access whatever comes from that device, just push A.Aux on your Beo4 - A.Aux might have to be added to the List there and moved to the first place.

The volume is controlled as usual.
Depending on your setup, you might have the option of using the (sources of) the Sonos Port in the B&O linkrooms as well.

So I was trying to see if I can DIRECTLY connect the Sonos' port to the Beolab 400.

Steve also can provide the right cables in the lenght, you’d need - just drop him a mail.

However, I am not a friend of connecting something (e.g. a Sonos Port), that you will have to volume control from your mobile device.

It can be done, but it is not smooth and the risk that you start at a relatively high volume is very big.

Maybe that is fine for you - I prefer the preciseness of volume controlling via a physical remote (like the Beo4).
