I need to replace the filter capacitors in my BeoLab 8000.

These are C9 & C10 on PCB2/Power Supply.
Their values are: 4700uF, -20+50%, 63v.

I have had the recommendation to keep the same value, but only use a bit higher voltage than the original.

By the way, I need to replace them in a BeoLab 8000 with these serial numbers:

  • 1342xxxx
  • 0942xxx (older)

Question:

  1. Which type/brand of capacitor is recommended to use as replacement?
  2. Is there any difference in filter capacitor between these two serial numbers?
  3. Suggestion for a webshop is appreciated.

The original capacitors are 85 or 105 oC rated?

May I ask why you need to replace them?

Thnx Martin.

I have two with hum and hiss. Had an extensive search for the source of this problem.
Next week I get help with measuring through the electronic circuits. But the suspect looks to be these two capacitors.
Since I am a bit in a hurry finishing my projects with these BeoLabs, I already prepare the next step if needed. In this
case finding a good source for the right replacement material.

So your suggestions are welcome.
