Hi everyone,

I have a BeoVision Avant 55NG, and I cannot gain access to google play to download any Apps, as my email account details are never recognised.

Have tried setting up different email accounts to make sure all the details are correct, but none of these have worked.  Seems a ‘user error’ problem but has anyone else had the same, and is there something I can do to fix this?

Thanks

Tom

Hi Elmar,

Thank you for replying and trying to help.

Have tried using the google play log in via the android home screen, but doesn’t work and always comes back with an error about account/password not matching.

Have reset the password and set up new accounts so many times that thought / hoping it might be a tv or wider issue. It sounds like user error but the accounts all work on other devices.

Am lost for options.

Thanks

Tom

Hi Tom,

Chiming in with a suggestion that perhaps you could check on first

Looking at my BV14 which is also the same 'chassis' as your BV Avant 55 NG I am able to log on to the play store.

When i got my TV actually i reinstalled the OS as i found the TV was coming on and off and since then I have had no issues and found the TV to be rock solid, even if it is an older Android version.

The bit i wanted you to check on is when you press on your BeoRemote One:

> home

> settings

> Android Settings

This will bring up the Android Settings Menu which looks a bit different to other menus

Scroll down till you see the 'personal' section, do you see your google account there?

Also under Location, is it using your location?

Thank you Michael for replying as well, and for trying to help. Am learning a lot about the tv!

I tried logging in via the settings app and add new account, but this still came up with the same problems of account/password not matching. Taking this further however, I found that by setting the verification on gmail to ‘two-step’, I get sent a text or similar, and then the account registers on the tv.

Really pleased as google play is now working, but now slightly disappointed by the number of on-demand / network television apps available.

Thank you for all your help.

Dear Tom!

fine that it is working now! The options downloading further apps are really bad… you would definitely need a extra box like apple TV; but without account data you can not update the Basic TV Apps which in my case was absolutely needed to run the software without crashing every 5 seconds

best regards Elmar

No worries, we all pitch in where we can.

Once you’re in the play store you can scroll / go up to your account and in the apps you can set them to update automatically , if that’s a setting you would prefer.

If you’re trying to download the Netflix app it is most likely not going to work. You can download it but unfortunately you can’t use it. All the others I have tried have been solid.

If you prefer the android platform you could buy an Android TV dongle which has Netflix in it etc (the white one) and if you’re going to use chrome casting. It is built in but give it a go and see if you like it.

Appreciating that’s annoying as it’s preferable to work natively.

Or alternatively an Apple TV with PUC control - you may have one or several laying around 😂 you can use Netflix and a suite of apps.

I found that in the play store there was quite a few apps available.

I’m glad you were able to log in

Cheers
