All,

Does anyone have any information on how the Beolab 6000 case is constructed? I'm especially interested in the top of the aluminium cabinet and how it is assembled?

I have found an image on the internet of what appears to be the top available as a spare part. Does anyone know if this part is easily removed or replaced?

Ive searched hard for an exploded diagram of the case or some diss-assembly instructions. Does anyone have any images or information they could share?

Thank you in advance!

Regards

Julian

Hi Julian, they are pretty easy to replace. Slide the fret up and off, undo the screws at the top of the speaker face that hold the top caps in place, then prise the caps off as they are mostly self adhesive.

Remove the fret by sliding upwards

Remove front panel containing the port and tweeter ( remove the tweeter first if you prefer)

Remove screw in centre of underside of top cap

Remove top cap (double sided tape! You may require a suitable lever to overcome)

Easy 15 minute job

Thank you Gentlemen for the information. Are the frets fairly easy to remove without damaging them?

Regards

Julian

Easy, just slide them upwards and they will fall off!

A word of caution when removing the frets make sure that you don't bend the small metal lugs on the reverse of the fret. They are fairly easy to bend and once out of shape are very difficult to re-fit to the speaker.
