Hello all.....I'm new to Beoworld and have a question about a specific product. I currently have listed on eBay a Beogram 5000 turntable. I was asked by a prospective buyer about engaging the shipping screws on the unit prior to shipping. I was aware of doing this however when inspecting the bottom of the unit I could find nothing resembling shipping screws. I was hesitant to try anything in fear of damaging the unit. Can anyone in this forum advise on the proper way to engage any shipping screws or way to secure the unit properly for shipment?

Thanks

Lift off the aluminum platter, the one the records rest on, under there you will find the transport screws, turn clockwise until stop.

To pack it properly, pack the aluminum platter separately in bubble wrap, take off the pickup and pack it separately, make a foam support for the pickup arm, and secure the arm and the support to the deck with tape, take a look here , do not leave the platter in the deck as seen in the thread, do not leave the pickup attached, pack both separately, and before packing the whole deck in the box, bobble wrap it. the unicell between the lid and the deck and flywheel is essential, double box is better.
