Hi all,  new here and new to B&O.  Downsizing from multi-amped Linn system to Beolab3 and will add beolab 11 sub.  From what I heard in the showroom I will be quiet happy.  Question does not relate to sound but esthetics.    I intend to display the 11 on a substantial teak pedestal and would like to have an artist friend paint the aluminum portion.   Has anyone done this and if so what were the results, how did you prep the aluminum and what type of paint.

Thanks

Surt

Perhaps you can have your friend paint you a nice picture and leave the beautiful BeoLab 11 to stand on its own.

I should imagine a Beolab 11 in say matt black would be much easier to paint than the aluminium.

Paint it- its yours.!

No problem with painting it with correct primer.

Do show us how it paints up.

Or the solid white lab 11? I have one of these (in white) and I can imagine the matt white finish would be very easy to paint over. I've been tempted myself.

Thanks for all the response,  don't get me wrong, I think the 11 is beautiful as is, but starting with such a beautiful shape presents a great canvas to do something quiet beautiful.  We have some glassware vase that is shaped similar and I can envision a hi gloss abstract design on the 11.  I must do some research on the best method to allow the paint to bond to the aluminum.   Also, my 11 has not come in yet, do any of you know if the "shell" is easy to remove and replace or is it "permanantly" attached?
