Hi,
I am trying to solve a problem with my Beolab 5. I want to connect my BV 10-46 using Powerlink and connect my Sonos using SPDIF at the same time (to use the Beolab 5s DAC for my Sonos).
So the setup is:
-BV 40 to both Beolab 5s using Powerlink
-Sonos to left BL5 using SPDIF, SPDIF connection from left BL5 to right BL5, sync cable
I tried to set the BL to option 1 and use RADIO to switch on the speakers. Sonos plays on the BL but I dont get the TV signal on it - even if I unplug the Sonos.
I tried option 0, in this case the TV works fine but Sonos does not play on the BL5.
Any ideas what the problem might be?
Thanks for the help!
The problem is that you should use option 0.
HOWEVER. B&O didn't include source data into the BV10!!!
So the BL5's will only "listen" to the spdif input in option 0 when they are in CD source mode.
BV40 won't supply this info onward to the BL5's even if you had a B&O cd player connected via master link.
It's this grandious amounts of fu*kups that makes me sick and tired of the brand.
My old BV5 had source data and it all worked flawlessly.
Great work B&O.
Too long to list....

Totally agree, there seems to be no consistantcy of approach or forward thinking with regards to the main Audio Video range.
Another example of B&O not thinking things through is with the Playmaker. This ugly, ugly box (great sound though) deserves to be hidden away. However in order to access the line in we have to press A.AUX on the Beo4/5/6., which means if the Playmaker is in a comms room or cabinet this is very inconvenient!
Why oh why oh why,can we not change to line in and adjust volume using an app on the iPhone/smartphone?
This is just lazy development and another reason why the brand is struggling.
Also can we have a Playmaker with a built in amp for BeoVox 2s etc? Playmaker to Pasive kit is again such an ugly solution.
@StUrrock "However in order to access the line in we have to press A.AUX on the Beo4/5/6., which means if the Playmaker is in a comms room or cabinet this is very inconvenient!"
My Playmaker senses the signal of the line-in when I start the source - I can't even control it ("press A.AUX") because it is in Option 0. And it is hidden away too!
I do not see what your problem is.
Greetings Millemis
There is a tv - and there is a BV
I see no sense in arguing with you, StUrrock
Make your setup as you like - create your own problems.

StUrrock: Re-read this thread a person who seems to love his Lab 5s, appears to be upset from a small piece of neglect from Struer. This is my point, B&O look after your existing clients and think things through when bringing out new products!

As you and I both know, B&O are only interested in the nouveau-rich.
How's that been working out for you B&O?

I wonder how many BS5's they're selling globally per month? (At current rate) I can't even phantom how someone could spend 5K on that thing today... It was old when launched.
I'm glad they made the BL5's though. They did get them right, besides the synch cables. If you bought them early you were left out.
