B&O sound for a new Sagemcom settop box

I wonder what the purpose of this cooperation is:

The box is Dolby Atmos certified……....containing ‘ three high-quality speakers with a combined active and passive woofer concept’.

Time will tell how good the sound is (after all the B&O guys worked on it)……….but why the Dolby Atmos claim?

I did not ask: what is the purpose for B&O of this cooperation…..since I can easily figure that out.

What is the purpose of the box, the Atmos licencing, the audio configuration?

There is a tv - and there is a BV.

Instead of buying two devices - separate STB and sound bar - people can buy just one box that does both things. Saves space too.

It has the same logos, right? It’ll be exactly the same, right?

An excellent idea. It brings quality sound to the masses who can’t be arsed with sound bars etc, and the B&O name or brand gets a much wider audience.

It competes with the Freebox Delta (Devialet sound)

It reminds me the Rolls Royce getting very excited about their logo been installed on the steering wheel of Kia to get the masses know Rolls Royce and enjoy the quality. Hmmm, exciting …

I prefer my B&O tv with good sound quality on board with no extra crap ( I’m freeview user )
