I’m based in the UK and at my age definitely a non techie. I use SkyQ which is great running through the latest Samsung digital smart tv ( bedroom ) but not so good on my 23 year old 32” Avant CRT analogue tv that I still have in my main living area. That’s linked to two Beolab 6000 speakers. All great and state of the art kit in their day. However, I now want to update the old Avant to a digital smart tv but my question Is how can I use my Beolab 6009 ‘s with that digital set up ? Is there a way or do I have to start afresh. Any advice and practical ideas would be most welcome.
Many thanks
Any form of advice would really be appreciated.
Thanks.
The easiest - but certainly not the best - way would be to use the headphone output of the tv.
The cable needed would be minijack stereo to left and right RCA/Cinch respectively - Steve@SoundsHeavenly could help you there.
The old Avant also included a sound processor/a preamp….that is where you connected the speakers via Powerlink.
With a new setup/the Samsung tv you are missing this - a modern tv does not include proper audio connections…..normally you also connect an A/V receiver for this.
The most practical - and the smallest - way to provide something similar would be this little box (from a small danish company called Hall Audio)

Please use Google Translate - if you should want to contact them, don’t worry…..you can write in english!
There might be other options, which won’t take up much space and/or will be too complicated to use - but none that I know of…..after all it is just a bedroom setup.
Please stay tuned, there might be other forum members, who have other (better) ideas.
