I'm looking for a second-hand Almando Multiplay Surround Decoder 2.
I mention 'second-hand', because I think the original selling price is a bit high (I live in The Netherlands). I'm not sure yet if this product will meet my needs, so I'd like to try it out without spending too much money. Anyone on the forum?
And who has RECENT experiences with this product? Interested in sound quality (internal DACs), operation via the app, future-proofing of the fairly 'basic' android/ios app (what if almando stops supporting the app in new android/ios versions?!...), build-in Chromecast experiences, -E-ARC functionality/volume control with original tv remote, etc.
I want to connect it to my LG C9 oled, Beolab 7.1 centre, Beolab 8000 fronts and (still to buy) Beolab 3's or 4's rears.

Like what it does but wanted something less expensive.

In fact, I tried your 3d-printed rca to powerlink + trigger box.here it is:
I tried it with a Teufel Decoderstation 7 (I need a small form factor pre-amp/surround decoder because I have a floating shelf underneath my TV. So can't/don't want a big av receiver) :
Teufel Decoderstation ARC didn't work together with my LG C9 Oled (Teufel box crashes, needs restarts). It couldn't control volume through ARC (like Arc should...) so sold this box.
Tried it with a decoderstation 5 (simpler model, only with spdif, not hdmi/arc) . Sounds good. Works ok, but always need the extra teufel remote to control volume and internal dacs arent really good. Also no option to stream without TV being on. I would like to have Spotify connect etc build in.
Because of those reasons/downsides I'm interested in the Almando Multiplay Surround Decoder II.
Other option (maybe?) would be a Canton Smart Connect, because it has all the modern functions (e-arc, Spotify, etc), is the correct size/form factor for me and I can use it with the self 3d-printed / your designed (thanks again and again!!) rca to powerlink + trigger box...

The setup works excellent. Sound is stunning. Everything I wanted. Easy installation, easy control and setup with the app, perfect collaboration with my LG Oled (hdmi ARC).
