Hi all,

I've recently upgraded my TV from a MX 4002 to an MX 4200. I previously used a powerlink cable to connect an external subwoofer, but for some reason this is not working on the MX4200.

I've checked the menus and can't see a 'link' option, nor is there an option via the Beo4 remote.

Any ideas on this, am I missing something stupid? Maybe the powerlink cable changed as the TV was upgraded?

Cheers for your thoughts/help.

Hi,

Have you tried menu>options>default (it might be set to speaker 1 and you have plugged your powerlink cable into the #2 socket). Try connecting to the other socket?

if you get it to work, selecting Go in the menu page will save your choice permanently.

Good luck

Thanks Bill, are you talking about the TV's menus? There is no option for this on the MX4200. There is sound, connectors, video - and none of these have the ability to activate the power link.

It's a shame as it used to work great on the MX4002, which was an older TV.

Try Speaker 3 on the Beo4.

Thank you for that!

This is where something is wrong... I've added 'Speakers' to the Beo4's list option, but when I select it and try to adjust the balance or speaker configuration nothing happens.

It's almost as if the TV isn't detecting the power link cable is connected. I wasn't sure if there was a signal coming back to the TV to activate these kind of options.

Which subwoofer is it?

Did you try with another speaker/Beolab?

Thanks for your reply. It's a generic 2.1 subwoofer, using a Powerlink cable that has two audio inputs. I have other subs so will give that a go, but something tells me the MX4200 is not recognising them.

I know there was a Powerlink v2 and v3, so not sure if that change has something to do with it as the TVs were upgraded.

Have you tried adding "Sound" to the beo4?  That should let you select Speaker1, 2, or 3. I believe Speaker 1 is the default. Speaker 3 should be what you want. Is your sub set to auto sense?
