LG C1 + Beosound Stage, needs update but fails? (2.2.4 > 2.4.4) no volume adjusting

So the setup is a LG C1 + Beosound Stage + Beoremote. Newly bought just yesterday.

The problem is that the Stage doesn’t adjust volume when you press it on the remote. Changing channels does work. The LG does respond and shows changing volume level, but the Stage doesn’t respond.

As I understand the Stage needs update 2.4.4 but currently is at 2.2.4. The app shows there is an update when the complete set is on (Stage and LG C1). After selecting ‘update’ the Stage goes double blinking orange for a while. When it is done however, again the app shows it is at 2.2.4 and update 2.4.4 available. We tried to update 5 times.

Anyone knows how to fix this issue or do I need to contact the dealer?
