Hi,

With LG Oled TVs (LG GX) now supporting WISA - is it then correct that it is possible to connect a WISA speaker like Beolab 18 + Beolab 19 subwoofer directly to the TV without any need for core or essence box etc.?

Is there a surround sound controller in the LG TVs like on the Bang & Olufsen TVs? (I know that B&O tv is build on LG but not sure if they are completely the same)

Currently I am using a combo of Essence MK2 and Core together with my tv in order to also control volume with remote - but i would like if I could be free of those boxes - hence also a nice excuse for a new TV..

Anyone tried out this or a similar combo?

There is a WISA dongle you will need for the LG I believe.

Then you can set the speakers in the LG's own menu settings somewhere - not my setup, so I dont know the finer points, but that is how it works at a basic level with LG and WISA.

Remember that once the WISA dongle is used, the LG\s own speaker cannot be used as a centre (or any channel)....for a centre channel you will need a WISA speaker. In that sense, you cannot mix the LGs own speaker with WISA speakers - its all or nothing.

Ok, thanks for info.

But the LG TV surround sound controller is capable of using the various surround sound standards and sending them to the speakers?

How about sound quality it does not suffer from this right - this is just as good as when using Beosund transmitter etc?

There have been quite a few questions and theeads about this.

Please do a google search for ‘Almando, Soundsend, Axiim Link beoworld’

I am pretty sure, that you can find some ‘answers’ that way.
