ml/mcl converter 1651

i have a beosound 5 encore connected to a ML/MCL converter 1651. The 1651 is merely used as an amplifier for powering 2 Pentas. Works fine with lower volumes but when increasing the volume the 1651 switches off. 

I use 2 pin-connectors for connecting the pentas.

has anyone an idea whats the problem of the 1651?
