hi all, help needed, i have a 2300 overture and a beogram 9500, now i have connected them up using an iconic RAII pre amplifier, yet i am only getting the use of one speaker and picking up radio signals. any ideas on what i'm doing wrong?

One of my moderating colleagues has clearly got excited and deleted the wrong post! Big Smile

As said before, did plugging the 9500 into the 2300 directly result in sound from both speakers , albeit soft and tinny? Then the RIAA or more likely the connections are at fault. I would suggest that the problem is the DIN to RCA connection which will be connected to the wrong pins of the DIn plug. These connectors are directional and the one you have is the wrong way! What sort of connectors do you have - a picture would be good!

Hi Peter, sorry for the late reply, yes both speakers worked once the 9500 was plugged directly into the 2300. Could you recommend a decent RIAA preamp as the one I have isn't the best. I will send pictures of the RIAA and connectors this weekend as I'm at work till then. But honestly I want a better preamp. Thanks for you time and help.

I would get from Steve - guaranteed to work and a reasonable price.

I use a TC770LC from www.phonopreamps.com and have been very happy wirh it.  Sounds good and has variable output to compensate for the lower than usual output from B&O cartridges.

There are other members using this model or other variants of it.
