Whilst I have resolved a few issues "on the fly" there are several issues which will take a little longer to resolve which have been identified either by Beta testers or myself:-

  1. Bronze, Silver and Gold membership logos not working correctly.
  2. "Member Online" or "Member Offline to big and needs to be reduced
  3. Add members name above the Avatar as it is in the other forum.
  4. Change the background batch jobs which update the stats such as members on-line, only updates it every 30 minutes at present, same is true for last new member.
  5. Add previous and Next forum list at both the top and bottom of the list.
  6. Change the default language to British English

I tried to add a folder in "my files", the folder appeared, but upon selecting it, I got the "404 file not found message". I could upload to main folder "my files".

That is correct because the FAQ's and NEWS is part of the web site NOT the forum and the web site still has the links to the old forum as this is a Beta test period.

Thanks for pointing that out, it was OK, but during editing I must have changed it by mistake..

As you can see it is now fixed.

Is there any way to set the 'Email me replies to this post' box unchecked by default. It's currently defaulted to checked and in my haste to post I keep forgetting to uncheck it. I wouldn't want loads of emails - certainly on a busy thread.

EDIT discovered this is an option available via  profile. Still think it should be set to off as default. When everyone starts using it there's going to be so many questions asking where to turn it off.

If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments.

Tongue Tied Just opened my "beoworld" email account and found zillions of emails telling me someone had replied to my post! Agree that the default setting should be "OFF"

I can't see my location. Sorry Keith, yet another issue to be solved!

If you mean your location details under the Avatar, then that is true. It was decided to leave that from that area because it was just to much information in such a small area. The information is still available when a user clicks on your name.

Can you try to squeeze the location in Keith. I find that it helps when replying to a question which is asking for information that may well be country specific.

It is my opinion that you should forced to fill in country of residence when registering on BeoWorld. Many times I have found myself answering in some detail with information that is not relevant to the OP simply because I am unaware of the country of residence.

Yes Completely agree!

I would gladly give up the "fuel gauge" green bar thingy... what good is it anyway? The post count is more valuable. Also, the "seks symbol" could get the boot as well! And the new ONLINE/OFFLINE text should revert back to the icon next to the username! There is way too much going on in that pane, too colorful, too busy! It is not framed and just seems to all run together.

If new users wouldn't be bothered (short of being required) with filling out their location (specifically or otherwise) ...could it not just be set to default to the IP number's country of origin.

New users who come in at the bronze level to ask, "Where can I get this fixed?" (not that there's anything wrong with that), are invariably answered with the question:  "Where do you live?"

Right!

Invariably, I end up reading the style of their message, looking for monetary symbols, and (of course) extraneoUs U's!

Same here. Quit the seks symbol and put in country, and Member offline is very big, why not just offline and a lttle smaller

The green bar gives an indication of how much you post - place your mouse pointer over it and it will show a rank. I actually think this is better than the post count as it negates the chance of people posting just to reach big numbers. However I have been on forums for long enough to realise that the post count will never go away. Who remembers the jewel scores!!

To try and understand why there is so little room on the member info/avatar side of a thread I did a comparison with the old site. Side by side you can see that not only is the area narrower on the new forum but the post depth is by default shallower too. A number of short posts in succession can look mayhem. Not an answer, just an observation.

I compared the Fonts used on both forums.

Am I the only one finding the Font on the "old" forum more readable?

Thanks Stonk...

That is what I think I was trying to say...

The old site avatar zone was cleaner, more informative, and frankly... better looking!
