Hello everyone
My current AV installation includes a Beosound 9OOO connected via a Masterlink cable to a BV7-40, this one connected to b & O speakers. I want to add a Beosound 5 Encore to this setup but for aesthetic reasons I don't want to use the 3.5mm port.
My wish is to use the Powerlink port of the BS5E and connect it to the Aux port of the Besound 9000.
1/ To do this, I want to use a PowerLink - RJ45 cable, and connect the RJ45 to a classic internet switch and on the other side. from the switch connected another RJ45 - Aux cable to BS9K, is it working ?

I am not quite sure, that I understand your reasons for using a ‘classic internet switch’!
Why not just run the cable directly?
And beware, you then have two volume controls, which can be fiddly.

Have a look at the nice guy at the buttom of this site.

I asked Steve about a cable to connect the powerlink output from my BS5E to the Aux input from my BS9K, but he does not sell it. He offered me a cable to connect my BS5E from the 3,5mm output to Aux input, but i didn't like the aesthetic from this solution.
That is the reason why i asked if it is possible to connect a PowerLink -> RJ45 -> Hub/switch -> RJ45 -> Aux. These 2 cable exist.
Did you try a regular B&O 7 pin din aux cable?
Never tried what you ask for - would not have that idea….to be honest - can’t imagine that that would work.
How about this one to connect the cables you mention:
(Be sure to use good shielded cables).
Hi, Millemissen suggestion is good - you do not need a switch, only a direct electrical connection between the pins of the RJ45 plugs.
This is the pin-out:
So unless I mix in- and out up, you will get the signals from pin 2, 3 and 5 from the BS5E into the BS9000. The other pins you could even snap off on the DIN plug if needed. There will be double volume control! So I am unsure how that ends up! Good luck. Johan

I am on fire , i bought a powerlink cable (MKIII 4 cores) and Din 7 and Din 8 male connector.
I hope everything is ok.
Just be aware, you cannot run this through a switch (which is an electronic devivc), just through/via a patch panel (=pure cabling).
