This is for your information:
Earlier this year I upgraded my BV7-32 MK3 to a BV7-40 MK5. I thought it would be a HUGE improvement but I was underwhelmed with the picture quality, especially with action scenes or air shots of forrests. It did not matter if the source was my HD set top box, Netflix or YouTube via AppleTV4 or internal Blu-ray player. The picture was jittery, very tiring to look at and it was hard to focus on what was going on.
Last weekend I was at a friend who had a Xiaomi Mi 4K UHD Laser Projector, with amazing picture quality, and I started playing again with the settings on my Beovision to get better results. I feared I needed to upgrade to a mk6 for the LED version.
But luckily I noticed that scenes with a lot of movement were slightly better if I had "Game Mode" ON. So next I tried to switch off Movie Mode in the service menu, and all of a sudden all scenes look perfect! No jittering and even fast trailers of action movies are pleasant to watch! I set Game Mode OFF again and the picture quality stayed good. (I imagine it is better to keep Game Mode off, but the documentation on what is does is very limited).
So TIP for BV7-40 mk5 owners:
MENU
0 0 GO to enter service menu
MONITOR
PICTURE ADJUSTMENTS
PICTURE SETTINGS
MOVIE MODE > NO (default is AUTO)
GO to save settings.
I am happy, so I thought I'd share!
PS I still want that 4K projector though...
