Hi fellow BandO fanatics,
I am not a big poster here and usually just read - I like Steve's comments a lot (the cable guy)
On Thursday, I visited Frede Kristensen in Veno to pick up a Thorens TD124 mk2 rebuild in all Oak and Ferrari red. I also got a Beogram 4000 and his famed Beolab5000. Frede is a lovely man and we had a pleasant hour discussing the equipment. His workshop is an Aladdin's cave and his technology very much cutting edge.
Now, the equipment looks like it rolled off of a production platform. I am blown away at the quality fo the sound of the beolab 5000. Frede was streaming music through his and we cranked the volume up - it was exceptional. I own a Copland csa150 and this holds its own with it.
Anyway I had a few pictures I wished to share but I cannot seem to upload...I had Frede (looking very well) and the famed 4401. Which I did ask if I could purchase..like ever other visitor he has ever had!
Unfortunately I cannot upload as it says there is an issue with a hacker or maintenance etc. I could email them to a moderator if of interest. and i will try again in a day or so.
But - If you ever get the chance to buy a Beolab 5000 or just visit with Frede - you should!! I drove 5 hours from Copenhagen and took a little ferry too. worth every minute.
i am also a New Yorker and for the quality his prices are too cheap! But that's his business.
Best, Kevin
