Shortly after having got my Beosystem 2 working with my beovision 4-50 I aquired a Beosystem 3.

I assumed that it would all plug in in place of the Beosystem 2, however I only have a VGA input to the Beovision, no DVI. I bought a DVI to VGA adaptor, then plunged it all up as it was with the Beosystem 2. The new Beosystem 3 appears to turn on, (a red light on it illuminates) but the beovision does not turn on. I have tried all the 9pin connectors with the same result

You do need a DVI card installed in one slot of the Beovision….

The issue may be that as the Panasonic screen in the beovision needs a power on command via the serial port connection, that is why it isn’t coming on. Whether you use a DVI board or VGA shouldn’t matter.

check the settings on the Beosystem 3 to ensure that you have set the correct monitor settings - it’s in the connection menu. If it isn’t set for beovision, then it won’t send the PON command to the Panasonic panel.

Hi, silly question, how do I do this with a screen that is not turning on?
