Hi world,

I write this new thread because i bought a beosound 9000 MKII for parts but it seems possible to repair it.

When i switch on the beosound, i can see the red standby led.

When i push on button, the standby led turn off but i don't have display.

When i select cd, the sledge don't move but the light is on and i can hear the lens move.

When i select radio, i can hear the sound and still no display.

to resume,

- the motor of the sledge don't work

- the motor of the lid don't work

- the display don't work

- select source work

- IR work

- radio work

Can someone in this Beoworld suggest me some solutions or parts to test?

thanks in advance,

regards,

Alex

Hey Alex,

Is the glass intact? I believe the sledge won't move if this isn't the case, but I could be wrong.

Kind Regards,

Hi BW789 thanks for reply,

the glass has a little chip and I remove it and open the beosound for check fuses and they are all good.

when I put 9v on the sledge motor it moves.

I think the problem is on the motor control board (pcb 35) but I don't know what cause this problem and the symptoms described above.

the clamper doesn't move either, but when I put 9v in it I can hear it moves

If you do not have knowledge of electronics and system operation, it will be very difficult to repair the unit yourself. There are many components and systems that control operation. One error can ruin your whole system.

Hi,

First, clean everything: glass and little detectors on each sides.
Second, Put back the unit in its original state: glass, covers etc…
Then find a service manual and look for "test mode", run it and analyse the results according to manual (MK3 manual should do).

Its the very first step to do to diagnose your unit, to do before any other work.

Units have generally bad lasers now and MK2 is prone to this. Bad laser can cause any sort of problem, even if generally not the ones you mentioned.
But keep this in mind if the unit has an odd behavior.

The fact you can hear radio is a good thing: most of the unit (power, preamp, etc…) are good. You should try aux-in also. If it works and I believe it will, that may say that the fault is in or around the sledge.

Then its maybe just a matter of Bad laser and the aftermath of a bad repair: previous owner has maybe open the unit and not plugged back all the ribbon cables. Now I think, it may also be the main ribbon cable from the sledge and this would be a quite difficult repair, but you're not there for now.

Good luck.

A bad laser will not cause this symptom. Not even glass or finger protection or other.

A display should always be there.
If it's a BS9000 where someone has tinkered on before, then a simpel loose connection/cable could be the cause of this. But what was the reason to cause that display problem, may be asked.

The BS9000 is a complex device with several strange behaviors when it comes to different problems. It even becomes more difficult when it comes to measuring on the different boards.

I would check first the flat cable which is located on the pcb above the cd. Maybe someone has not placed the cable(s) correct back in its place.
I doubt  that the servicemode will show up on the display.
What happens when you place the sledge on the first position, remove the the ribbon cable between the PSU and motorcontrol PCB and start the BS9000. Start radio.

first of all, thanks to all of you for help me in this tricky mess.

When i remove the grey ribbon cable between PSU and motorcontrol i've got exactly the same symptoms, nothing changes.

I measure the 5V display on P8 connector from microcomputer interface and i got 0.2v, so i think there is a problem on pcb 34 instead of pcb 35...

I check all the connectors and they are all in good place.

I check the sound parameters and it works good (bass treble pan loudness etc..)
