hi everyone

can somebody clear this up for me. I am trying to control a beogram 6500 with a beo4 remote. I have succeeded in switching it on with N radio, but I am unable to get it to play or stop with the remote. My remote does not have a play button. any help appreciated

If it’s connected to a compatible Beomaster then pressing N.RADIO should turn on the BG6500 and start it playing. The GO button is the equivalent of PLAY, and you should be able to move the tone arm with the arrow buttons.

What Beomaster or system is the Beogram connected to?

the beogram is connected to a beomaster 6500. When i press Nradio all that happens is the beomaster  switches to phono, nothing else. Any other ideas TIA

Assuming that the Beogram was connected to the correct PHONO input, then remove the din plug and count the number of pins inside - there should be 7.

Pins 6 and 7 provide the datalink connection but are removable.  A previous owner may have removed them to connect to a different (non-B&O) amplifier with a 5 pin din input.  This will stop the turntable being controlled.

See datalink pin connections here: https://www.beoworld.org/beotech/misc1.htm

I wouldn't think so. Check the pins first!

On original B&O connectors pins 6 & 7 just screw in/out with a small screwdriver, but they can be hard to find, unless taken from another DIN plug where they are not needed.  It may be simpler to buy a new 7 pin DIN plug and get someone to solder that on.

Sorry for late reply. It didn’t come through on my email so I didn’t know you had replied.  You are a legend for finding them, thank. You so much.
