Peter:

I hope they make a Beoplay product to compete on the "Bose market" A Beosystem where you can use any TV/Screen/Projector (since they get obsolete so fast)
- Built in Airplay, DNLA, Bluetooth to be controlled with BEO remotes as well as Apps for iOS and Android,
- Built in Surround decoder of course.
- Network connected for easy updates and also cloud and NAS access.
- Compatible with Masterlink
- STB controller to control all the periferals such as Playstations, Blu-ray players and Apple TV...

Pack it in a Jacob Jensen or David Lewis feel and look, and give it a reasonable price and I will be the first to buy it..

/Peter ( dreaming...)

That is exactly what we need right now. Not more, not less !!
I would add a modded beo4 style two way remote with that and I'll first in line.

Having a dead end link on the front page months after a new site launch is quite sad... however, there is a (probably) working feedback form you can find through "Contact" on the bottom.

I wouldn't be expecting any help on that problem though that (or any other) means of contact, though.

They probably don't care about Finland , which is ironic considering you're one of the few european economies not going down the plughole ! LOL

They should be diverting all their attention the countries around them , not wasting their time attempting to compete in China & India

English private schools are even rebuilding copies of themselves in China just for the demand that has arisen. If they are bothering to invest on what is always a gamble, then opening shops is relatively small fry.

Why would Rolls Royce for example, and all other exclusive brands be rushing headlong eastwards, we're it not for an affluent middle class. Even if they amounted to 5% of the population, thats still 50 million rich folk all after the good stuff. Too many big companies can't be wrong about this market.

They shouldn't ignore China and India. Jaguar, for example, has seen a huge increase in sales from these markets.

However, I was nervous about Tue's recent announcement that B&O were looking to open 50 (!) new stores in China. That's ambitious.

Now that we are looking at B&O website, it appears to need serious attention.  They seem to have a problem with geography or at least they have nobody checking details.  In the job openings for the United States, there is a mistake Canadians would not appreciate.  Look at this.

There is no central sales office for Canada on B&O's site, so I guess the US office encompasses Canada as well.

Or perhaps B & O knows something about the US-Canada border that we don't (ha ha ha).

Ha ha...I tried customer service too and got save "not found" URL.

http://www.bang-olufsen.com/en-AU/error?bw_errorcode=404&bw_requestedUrl=http://www.bang-olufsen.com/customer-service

I recall that in WWII when mechanics used to fix aircraft, many of them failed the post-repair test flight and would crash.

So.,..they sent the mechanics up with the pilots on the test flight....may faults were fixed first time.

B&O need  to wake up ....

I just tried to click on the links to the three stores here in Melbourne. These links are on the B&O website. All three led to this:

HTTP 500 - Internal Server Error

Sorry... We are experiencing a internal server error at the moment. We are trying to reseolve the issue, so please be patient and try again later.
Very worrying.....

And the press releases in news section weren't working yesterday, when I checked! Press releases are read by other people in the industry.

I wonder what's going on?

The "blip" you mention has been the same for days now and is still the same today (link to customer services, PDFs etc, not working). Any "blip" usually is fixed in an hour or two :)

Of course, it's only a minor thing. Just a bit unprofessional.

Back from travelling again for a few months, and yes, I really looked forward to a click of the Beo 4 remote to turn the sound and the system on.

Wonderful !

A few G of music albums were purchased along the way, and absorbed into the Beoplayer system to enjoy on cue. I realize that everything I have from B&O still works (even the olde Reel-to-Reel player ), and can be enjoyed. Not everyone can say that about audio and video systems these days.

One concern I have on the topic of this thread has been the need for many B&O products to be programmed by a B&O technician, and not the owner. For a good minimalist, innovative company from Sweden, that has never made sense.

A product so technically advanced should never require a team from EADS to make a distant appointment to program and then turn on a music or video system to enjoy. We have come a very long way from the time when it took a " technician " in the mysterious world of IT to connect a computer to a printer, yet I recall when people were admittedly ( and stupidly ) paying 100 CHF for just that service.

I too believe that quality audio is more important and enjoyable than video products, and I hope that B&O continues to pursue R&D along that line with something that the owner can operate and understand. I want to buy that product, bring it home, to the remote island, or high up to the Alps, set it up myself, and enjoy it, and further understand the mechanics of it, just as I now do with my computer, smartphone, or tablet. I want to be proud of it, how it functions, how it looks, and how small of a footprint it requires.

There is an excellence to the finish of B&O products that needs to be continued, which I'll pay for.

True, but B&O is Danish, not Swedish.

Many years ago I needed a new belt for my Beogram 1200. At that time the only dealership nearby was George Henry Lee (John Lewis) in Liverpool. They insisted that they would have to come out to fit the belt at a ridiculous call-out cost. I eventually got the belt after pulling the platter off another Beogram on display and asking them what special expertise was required to change the belt. They backed-down with embarrassment.

I hope you didn't "ruin" the belt by touching it with you bare fingers. I have an "audiophile" tt that came with a special "belt removal" tool and warned against touching as the oils in your fingers degrade the rubber, and eventually the sound.
