All,
I have a Beocenter 7000 that works like a champ. Phono, Tuner, Remote control, and tape deck all work great with one exception. When I play a tape, I only get sound from one speaker. When a play the tuner or records the sound is fine from BOTH speakers.
I have tried cleaning the heads and changing from speakers A to B.
Any thoughts...Thanks guys!
Hi,
I would blame the relais for record/playback. You can try to switch to record and stop for several times. Maybe this cleans the contacts a little. I had those problems with my beocord 6000, which I think is similar to the deck in the center.

I agree with Chris.Actually just a few days ago I had this exact symptom and cause in a Beocenter 7000 on the bench. There are two relays in there, one switches record/playback, the other the dolby circuit. Both can be at fault.

Could anyone elaborate on how to fix this please? I have a Beocentre 2002 with exactly the same problem. In fact I have two, one with this problem on tape and the other that has the problem on phono, although on phono it is intermittent. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
Hi did you get anywhere with this thread? On my beocenter 2002 the sound only comes out of one speaker on the tape deck but is fine with the record player and radio and I've no idea how to go about fixing it 😬

Beocenter 2002 has nothing in common with Beocenter 7000, apart from the platter and a few other parts of the turntable.- Check the leads at the large connector for the tapedeck.- Give the large record/playback switch a shot of contact cleaner and exercise it a dozen times or two.- Same treatment for the source selector switches.
Still no luck? Replace the tantalum capacitors in the Dolby circuit.
