Hi Forum

I have a BeoSound 35 in my setup. Most of the time I used to control volume and skip tracks with the beloved Beo4 remote, because the BS35 actually have an IR-eye integrated (though there is not much documentation about it).

The control from the Beo4 has suddenly stopped working!

I have recently installed a firmware upgrade of the BS35 to version 1.27.47106

But I cannot tell if the firmware upgrade causes the IR-eye in the BS35 not to work, of if it happened just before the upgrade.

- I have ensured to verify that the Beo4 works (I can see the LEDs blinking when testing via a camera phone).

- I have ensured to point the Beo4 to the BS35, and set the A.option to 1

- I have verified that the Beo4 actually works, by testing it on my BS9000, which reacts accordingly.

- I have not touched the BS35 at all. It is mounted on the table stand, and is located on top of a bookshelf. I only control the BS35 remotely from the App and Beo4.

Are there other users of the BS35 with the IR that have a similar experience/issue?

Is it a common issue for the BS35 that the IR-eye fails?

I have never before had any IR-issues with my legacy B&O systems (BS9000 and BS Overture).

Hello BOThom.

Well i Think i have just the same problem....

I have a Beosound 35 in my kitchen, for about two years.

I have used a Beo4 all the time, with no problems. Until the other day it will not work any more.

I have checked  all out, change batteries, tried another Beo4 - nothing works.

My firmware has just Update like yours 1.27.47106

I think something happend with the new firmware ??

What do we do ? Any ideas ?

Thanks

Allan Denmark

Thank you for your reply, Allan.

I am somehow happy to hear that the firmware update might be the cause for the IR-eye to fail.

But I do hope that this was not on purpose from B&O! I have already reported the issue to their support, but without any feedback yet.

I certainly do not hope this is a way to force us to buy the Halo or One remote (not that I dislike them at all) - but the Beo4 really fulfill my needs to control the BS35.

I will get back to this thread, if I have news from B&O to this issue

I have the exact same problem too since around 15 October when my BS35 was updated to the latest software version. See my thread about it https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/49540.aspx. Glad to hear (or perhaps not really…) that I’m not the only one experiencing this. I’ve mailed customer support about it so let’s hope they can fix it.

Just received a new software update. The Beosound 35 responds to IR signals from the Beo4 again!!!

Excellent, my BS35 also receives IR-signals again after a recent update published today.

Thanks all for a great collaboration and contribution Smile
