I've got a BeoSound 9000, with Pentas in one rooms, BeoLab 8000s connected via a Passive Link in another room and a BeoLab 2000 in a bedroom - all linked via Masterlink cables.

I mainly listen to music on an iPod connected directly to the BS9000 via the Aux input or normal radio stations.  I rarely play CDs (as I've ripped them all to the iPod) but I love the look of the BS9000.  The drawbacks to the current system is that I can't change tracks etc on the iPod from other rooms nor can I listen to Digital (or internet streamed) radio stations.  I don't subscribe to Spotify, TuneIn or Deezer (and would rather not).  I have a NAS server, which stores my CD collection and has DLNA streaming available but is not connected to the BEO system at present.  I have a spare iPAD which I could use and am happy to buy an Apple AirPlay or similar, provided the use of the system is through one remote control or one application on a device such as a iPhone or iPad.

I'd like to update the system but not spend a great deal on it.  Ideally, I'd like to have my whole music collection (RIP'd CDs) and a wide variety of radio stations (including the BBCs ones) available in ever room, including the ability to change tracks/stations, etc in a system that is simple to use (not have 2 or more devices, remotes etc, to interface with just to choose a track and adjust the volume.)

One option is to trade in the BS9000 and replace it with a BeoSound 5.  This would give me the functionality of the iPod and the ability to change tracks, etc from all the rooms.  The downside (unless I'm wrong) is that radio listening is limited to TuneIn - which I don't like the idea of because BBC radio stations aren't available on TuneIn).

Another option is to trade in the BS9000 and replace with a BeoSound Moment and I would need to stream my CD collection from the NAS.  The downside again (unless I'm wrong) is that radio listening is limited to TuneIn - which I don't like the idea of because BBC radio stations aren't available).

I've also seen BEO Essences & Cores but don't know what value these bring other than being able to link an iPAD (for streaming the music) to one pair of speakers, when I need a multiroom system.

I've seen videos of older BeoSounds being connected to the more modern setups with the ability of the BEO App being used to control them including change CDs but the only clue to how it was all linked was that " B&O have come up with a system where the record player can connect to your WiFi through a converter, which is hidden behind the cabinet in the picture above." which didn't help.

Any suggestions or help would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance
