What’s wrong with the Beoworld app?

I have been doing searches on Beoworld and when I see a topic I can see a sensible and meaningful reply.

So I for example, click on the top item and it goes to this:

Not only with this posting, it goes to this moderation page on many many many postings. Is there a fault with the Beoworld app please?

I hardly ever use the built-in search function of the Beoworld site.

Instead I use google to search (would probably be the same with something like DuckDuckGo) for what I need to find.

Is often very reliable - if you add ‘site:beoworld.org’ the search should go direct to what google has indexed from Beoworld.

 

By the way that is one of the nice things about Beoworld….it is open for everyone to search, not just for members………in opposition to ‘certain other B&O related sites’.

I have also been meaning to report this for some time.

It appears that if spam has been posted (and deleted) in a thread, any search which returns that thread actually only shows the “Report Spam here” thread.

So many posts don’t get posted, I’ve largely given up bothering to be honest.

Our BeoWorld App was kindly created and updated for free, by a very generous member.  Any updates done are from the goodness of his own heart as BeoWorld cannot afford to pay a developer hundreds or thousands of pounds.

If he has time, he will update it - otherwise if everyone is happy to pay into a fund to have it updated, I could pass it to someone else who has more time?

I am sorry if I came across as being in any way critical. I was not being critical at all. It was purely an observation, that the search function has more of these threads where Spam moderation is mentioned and content is missing. The app search seemed to work much better in years gone by. I am not knowledgeable in I.T matters and clearly do not realise what a great deal of time and energy is required to maintain such a site and fix such issues.

I am deeply appreciative of this site and enjoy it immensely. Thank you!
