has anyone used rechargeable batteries in their Master Control Panel 5000 or 5500 ?
mine don't seem to last very long at all :-(
The problem would be that rechargeable batteries usually have even less capacity than regular alkaline batteries, so you'll be recharging them quite often (not forgetting that the nominal voltage is usually less than 1.5V even when fully charged - I don't know how much headroom the design of the MCPs has, but they might stop working already when the rechargeables are still half-full).
The MCP5000 really eats batteries, and I have a hunch that the 5500 also does it more so than 6500. I base that simply on the surprising fact that the MCP6500 I bought around this time in 2008 is still on the same batteries I put in it back then! Obviously it is not my main remote, but I do use it daily nowadays.
