Hi! I'm completely new here but this looks to be the best place for all things B&O.
I inherited my late father's B&O stereo system comprising of a Beogram 1900 turntable, Beocord cassette player, and Beomaster tuner. Not in perfect working condition as would be expected. A couple of the indicator lights on the tuner are burned out but other than that it appears to be working. The tape player seems to be functional but have yet to play a cassette. The issue is the turntable. It's missing the dust cover and the speed is super sluggish even with the speed adjusted to the fastest setting. I changed the drive belt and it was super fast even with the speed adjusted to the slowest setting. I stupidly stretched the belt thinking it was too small and now it's slow again. And now my cat has successfully damaged the needle after jumping on it and pushed it up inside the cartridge. The repair guy is charging so much money just to come out and look at it plus the lawyer sized hourly rate to do the repairs. I can find a working one on eBay for the same price or less.
Any recommendations for a decent, reliable and good sounding B&O record deck compatible with this set up would be much appreciated!! Thanks! I just want to listen to my dad's old jazz records again.
Welcome to Beoworld Bimbojones,I just went through the same exercise and you can find some advice in this thread I started https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/49514/349535.aspx#349535
The decks come in different flavors and price points. The 4000, 4002,4004 and 6000 on the higher end price point as solidly built, highly desired collectibles of the tangential models and the 1800, 1900 radial models on low end but also great.Beware almost all purchases on Ebay will end up in the repair shop either because the 40yrs old deck needs some TLC or the seller did not take precautions to secure deck transport screw, tone arm and mishandling in transit by shipping companies. The decks are just fragile if not packed by someone who understands the decks. As for repair cost, unfortunately folks who can fix these vintage equipment are becoming extinct and I have definitely spent more than I paid for some of the older units in repairs, but I also understand its labor intensive to open these up and not trash it due to age. In my area in California, hourly bench rate is $125 which is very costly but discounts are applied as repair hours scale. So far I have been happy with the results from my local authorized B&O service shop and the units are now good for another 10-15yrs.Anyway, you have some really nice B&O units. I hope you are able to get them working again.
Goodluck!
Thank you so much! Super helpful. I'll go check out your thread. Good call on eBay purchases, too. I will definitely look out for the seller's rating, experience, and shipping policy. Ideally I'd find something local. Down in here LA the charge for house calls (no repair shop drop-offs for this particular guy) is $150 plus $200 per hour. Yikes! I'd try repairing it myself if I knew how. Anyway, thanks for the info.

You are welcome! Since you are in LA. I would connect with Tek Media Group in Burbank,CA. They service a lot of B&O on behalf of California dealers and owners. I actually just bought the same record deck off ebay a few weeks ago as a gift to my sister and sent it to Tek Media to service. It came in mostly good functional and excellent cosmetic condition from ebay but tone arm had something broken in transit where it wouldn’t stay up after returning to non play position and some speed issues. I tested it and the sound of the 1900 is wonderful with the MMC20EN Cartridge it came with. Paid $300 on ebay including shipping to acquire it.
You can reach Tek Media Group at 818-244-4440 and ask for Jasmine. You can mention I referred you if it’s helpful.

Great! Thank you I will certainly do that!
