Needing advise. We have the above, with lab 5's as front 7.4 as center and lab9 as rears, this is connected to a bvis 4-65, we also have a projector connected to the system as well. Sadly the bvis 4-65 is failing, I would like to replace this with an lg 77" oled and also a 4k projector, i would like to keep the beosystem 3 as the sound source. Whats everyones thoughts?
Which version of BS3 do you have?
I tried to connect a Lg C9 to my BS3 using a DVI-HDMI adapter and fried the video board, twice.
I was told here in the forum that other users that have the version with HDMI outputs didn't have any problems.
Hi its a first gen with dvi outputs, i dont see how that could be possible you are simply taking the video out of the beosystem 3 to the lg, and that displays the picture
That was my thought as well, but I managed to burn the video board of the BS3 twice.
Connecting any other device to my LG hdmi ports didn't produce any problem. But the BS3...
I think I'll never know for sure the root cause of the problem. At this moment I think the LG told the BS3 to run on a refresh rate the the BS3 wasn't prepared to. It tried and burn.
I'm running an LG OLED TV (65inch) from my DVI connection with no issues. I'm using the TV as the screen for the BS3 as opposed to watching the TV and using the BS3 for sound. (If that makes sense). This is mainly because i have a Humax Freeview Recorder attached it the BV3 that is controlled by the PUC and can record a different channel as opposed to if you try to record on the single TV tuner.
The picture is good but not 4k. I'd say that for general watching I can't really see a difference in the picture unless I'm closer than about 6 feet.
It took a while to set up the BS3 to output the best possible picture .
