Please, do not forget that this is beta software.
It is meant for those who are willing to try things out…..and report back, if there are problems.
Those, who are not willing, should better wait for the regular update.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Hi guys
Firstly, thank you so much for participating in the beta, it is much appreciated. Our hope is that this over time will grow into a large number of Morzart based products that will get the new version before the official release. This will help us stabilize and collect feedback, resulting in a better end result for everyone. So this is not a one off, this is the way we will release to these products going forward. Some comments on the release you now have access to
Thank you for participating

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I can't tell you how happy I am to have my Beosound Level working with the rest of my Multiroom equipment.
So far everything is very smooth. I will certainly report back through the feedback form if I notice any issues at all.

I am afraid I am struggling to find time to participate even if I’d like to test my own specific scenario. My hope would be to connect one of my two Balances to my turntable via line-in, and share this source to the other Balance as well as a Beosound 1 current gen. I’ve heard that non-GVA would handle line-in as a source differently compared to GVA because of the way Google works on the speaker. Not sure about how this is exactly. In any case, I have got only non-GVA speakers and I hope it’ll be possible to have a multi-room experience of my record player across old speakers with Beolink and new ones that are based on Mozart. Now or in a later version :).
Awesome work you’ve done already!
KR,
Csaba
That should work even in the Beta @Csaba
In the GVA models, google takes ownership of the line in for some reason. But since you say you have non-gva models if you play it over line in you can share it around. It works fine for me with my BS9000 and M3 and then share it around the place(granted it's not on Mozart) but I should soon be able to partake

FYI
Tried the following:
Play TV source on Beovision 11 and using B&O app to expand sound to Emerge. NOT WORKING
Using B&O app to select TuneIn channel to play on Emerge. NOT WORKING (Not expected to work. TuneIn not local source)
Using B&O app to select Deezer song to play on Emerge. WORKING
Play on any NL device and using app to expand play to Emerge. WORKING
Play B&O radio on Emerge and using app to expand to a NL device. WORKING
The way I see this thing about GVA vs. non-GVA, I find it crazy that such an important detail is not mentioned on the B&O website. Customers should be able to make well-informed decisions if it makes such a big difference in functionality. After all, it sounds like it is not only voice control that you get with the GVA version, but also a different way of working with line-in, or in the worst case - by the sound of it - even a limitation.
I should really test it out, at least with my Balance sharing line-in with my BS1. I'm still waiting for my Balance Bespoke but as long as the other one can share it to BS1, I'd be happy. A second Balance would then be not a problem to add.
Trouble is that if something goes wrong, I know I will not have time to dig deeper into it and test it out, probably until after the final release has already gone public :). A pity since I think both I and B&O would gain from it.

Expanding BV11 sound to Emerge should work.
It would be really helpful if you can submit this feedback via the app or send me the serial number of your Emerge in a PM then I will analyze the device logs so we can get this fixed.
Thanks for participating and helping out. It is much appreciated.

Sorry, you are right. I read it as expanding TuneIn playback from another device to the Emerge. That should work. Only B&O radio is supported as local source on Emerge. Edited my response.

Understood. I will change in summary above.
Hiort: Play B&O radio on Emerge and using app to expand to a NL device. WORKING
Happy with this feature. Makes it possible to select station on B&O radio (which isn't available on TuneIn) and expand it to BS1 (mk2 GVA) and Essence MK2 simultaneously.
No Deezer app needed anymore is also nice.
c-larsen: Expanding BV11 sound to Emerge should work.
Wow, that's a really new cool feature! That would mean you could add emerge or balnace speakers to your TV! Would this work on Eclipse as well? But it would just be expanding the sound source , it will not be a seperate speaker in the eclipse to use as surround?
- Beovision Eclipse 55 Mk2 - Beolab 19 - Beosound Shape - Oppo UDP-203
Decided to test out my Balance, and I’ve got the beta software, updated my B&O app too but weirdly I cannot find an Enable BeoLink toggle for Balance, nor am I able to find a multiroom list.
No the Eclipse wont see it as a speaker to use in a speaker group, like it does with Beolabs.

Exactly.
For me the usecase is that I may play the morningshow or news on my TV and want to continue listen to the sound when I go into my bathroom.
Csaba: Decided to test out my Balance, and I’ve got the beta software, updated my B&O app too but weirdly I cannot find an Enable BeoLink toggle for Balance, nor am I able to find a multiroom list.
Update: so I took a leap of faith and tried a couple of things. Below are some screenshots.
First, a screenshot of the Enable Beolink toggle missing for some reason. This was accessed by going to my profile where I can also access "Products". From the same page I can access Beolink.
I have also updated the software on my Beosound 1 to be sure and activated AirPlay multiroom in its "external" configuration page. Whatever AirPlay multiroom means or is used for.
Next, what I found nice was that I could see my sources like this:
So, to get to the following screen I found I had to click the "chain" icon from the bottom menu, and this brought up two different screens.
Having used the Music app from my iPhone to stream to the BS1 first, I chose what seemed like the AirPlay icon from the app. I am not aware of any other specific way to play over the wifi. So when initiated like this, then the multiroom page in the B&O app appears like this, with a possibility to join Balance:
When I started off with the Balance, then I got the following. This navigation does not seem to exist for my Balance, nor do I understand what AirPlay Multiroom means.
So if I want to use multiroom, have I done something wrong, is there a limitation if I want to play music from the Music app (locally stored files on my phone), or do I actually need to start with a Beolink product such as the Beosound 1? I thought I could start with the Balance.
In any case, if I do it like described above, and add the Balance to the BS1, then they are in sync, whereas if I just add both using the AirPlay menu inside the Music app by Apple, then there is a horrid delay between the two. But of course this is not B&O-related.
Finally, the real test for me was to see how sharing line-in would work. So I connected my Balance to my record player, and from within the app managed to bl...y extend it to my Beosound 1. Blown away!
So my conclusion, if I have done things right, is that if I want to share my record player in a multiroom setup, I can start with the Balance, and kind of need to because the BS1 has no line-in, and if I want to play something stored on my phone, I'd start with the Beosond 1 and extend it from the B&O app to my Balance.
Bonus screenshot of the BS1 and Balance marked with those "link" icons next to their names.

Weird.

See my previous note with screenshots :). I do! I suppose I needed a restart and figure out which speaker to start with. But I am not 100% sure I was doing it right.
Csaba:I have also updated the software on my Beosound 1 to be sure and activated AirPlay multiroom in its "external" configuration page. Whatever AirPlay multiroom means or is used for
From what I understand, having taken a closer look in the context of multiroom, there is no other way of playing to my speaker from my phone over the WiFi than via AirPlay (which I suppose is just a fancy word for "over the WiFi"), so I do kind of depend on it if I want to avoid playing via the speaker of my phone :).
And from what I understand, if I want to add more speakers to a playback, I can either use AirPlay in the same iOS menu for source in the Music app and tick off for any other speakers, but then I have a serious delay, and AirPlay is not what I want anyway, or I go to the B&O app once I have started streaming to the first speaker via AirPlay, and chain the second, third etc. speaker to this using "multiroom", which in this case I suppose is BeoLink Multiroom.
Although this bit is a little confusing when I start with AirPlay, then I use what I think is BeoLink Multiroom in the B&O app, but I also get a warning about having to enable AirPlay Multiroom. Which I can do for the Beosound 1, following the "backend" configuration pages, but I do not have anything similar for the Balance (ref. screenshot in a previous post of mine), even if the app insists I should go to something like Product settings > Configure > Settings > and activate AirPlay multiroom (for the Balance).
Furthermore, when I wanted to report this via the feedback menu option in the software menu that I could see yesterday, today I am unable to see it for some very weird reason. A bit like when the charged state of the case of my Beoplay EQ disappears. Despite having the same version as the beta. Although the build number might differ, only I cannot see that information.
Maybe there is something wrong with my expectations where I think it would magically work without involving AirPlay at all. I only want to play locally stored audio files from my Music app on my phone (I am not a fan of streaming because I buy and download high-quality music from different websites). Which is funny, because I thought this was going to be more straightforward than what I have actually been dreaming about since the Balance was launched, that is sharing line-in from my Balance to a BeoLink speaker - which is actually a smoother experience, and finally a possibility :).

I think that is an error that I will report. That setting is not available in my Emerge either.

Yes, I think you have "wrong" expectations. Your Music app provides Apple Music. The B&O app have Deezer as music source. If you have your music files on a DLNA server, you will be able to access them using only the B&O app.

About your expectations:
Your music being stored on an Apple mobile device, the easiest and natural way of listening to it on a networked speaker, at a good quality, is to stream it wirelessly from the Apple device to the networked speaker, directly (Bluetooth) or "indirectly" (WiFi). Currently Airplay 2 over WiFi is the best solution, but you may find other fancy solutions leveraging Google Cast or DLNA, none that I can recommend though. Note: Airplay 2 is also working over the wire.
In summary, keeping your music on an Apple mobile device constrains you to involve Airplay in order to properly carry your music to the receiver, like you need a cable to link your turntable to the Balance Line-In: Apple Music App <--> Airplay <--> Wifi <--> local area network <--> wifi/wired <--> Airplay <--> B&O speaker
Personally I don't see any difference in sharing line-in or Airplay over a Beolink setup, the most "complex" part is at the source (choose the LP, put it on the deck, clean it, press play v.s open the Music app, choose the album/track/playlist, select the Airplay speaker, press play), maybe the Balance is not yet fully ready from a Beolink perspective, but it will be I presume.

Hiort:The B&O app have Deezer as music source. If you have your music files on a DLNA server, you will be able to access them using only the B&O app
To be more precise:
B&O products that have Deezer service integrated are controlled by the B&O app, i.e. the B&O App does not stream Deezer itself.
if you have a DLNA server, music can be controlled by any DLNA controller app, not only by the B&O App.
