Beosound Moment moodwheel working now?

Is the Beosound Moment moodwheel working now after being dead for a long time? The white dot is back and activates appropriate music as per the colour.

.

 

 

Present: BL90, Core, BL6000, CD7000, Beogram 7000, Essence Remote.

Past: BL1, BL2, BL8000, BS9000, BL5, BC2, BS5, BV5, BV4-50, Beosystem 3, BL3, DVD1, Beoremote 4, Moment.

What has stopped working since B&O have stopped using Gracenote is the Moodwheel inner ring. The other rings have always worked afaik, leaving the Moment users with a device working at 50% of what we paid for

Begs the question if Deezer and B&O fell out or if Deezer went bust, would B&O products suddenly stop working.

What puzzles me is why B&O is so reliant on one streaming service only.

As far as I can tell, Deezer is the only company that will allow B&O to control music within the B&O App.

 

Spotify?  Have to use the Spotify app, can't do it within the B&O app.

Apple Music?  Has to be controlled by the music app or whatever iTunes turned into.

Google music?  Only controllable by voice or the google play app.

etc.

 

Deezer has an API and allows companies like B&O to incorporate the Deezer music service into the B&O app, so B&O doesn't have much choice of music vendors.

 

I'm honestly very happy with Deezer, and glad to see it appearing in the new Mozart platform beta for Level, Balance, etc.  That suggests that the two companies are expecting to work together for the forseeable future.

In this case the Moment will be left with TuneIn, Line-In and buggy DLNA. If B&O give up TuneIn for B&O radios, then we will almost have a 2k € brick for decoration
