Can you help me understand the schematic of PCB 47 COVER / TACHO. optocoupler, transistor ?
What is the use of such an assembly?

The optos monitor the movement of the doors to make sure the doors open and close fully (allowing motors to run as long as pulses are sensed).If something breaks or something is blocking the doors, power is removed.
In earlier models, the door motors were merely running for a pre-programmed amount of time - not always enough to fully open or close a slightly rough running door.
