Hi... printing isn't a really big deal... international shipping is. I am in Denmark. I guess you are not. I honestly do not want to bother with it. I recommend you get 2pc printed locally. This will allow you to mount fins between the two.

Hi @Ravsted,

would it be possible you share the stl files with us? I would love to "upcycle" my old Beolab 4000s to a new look.

Hi

I'm new owner of a pair of Beolab 4000 and I like the wooden option very much ;-))

Does anybody provide a .stl File for the Beolab 4000?

If so, please be so kind and upload or send as Email on request.

Thanks very much!

Kind regards

Christian

Hi Ravsted, Great work with the Beolab 1 3d printing. Is it possible to share this file with me too? I'd love to create this unique modern look for my Beolab 1's that I finally got working again. Thanks again , all the way from the "land downunder"

Don't worry Ravested, I found a link to the file on your webpage. Thanks again for the hard work! I'll have a go printing these off here in Sydney (I don't have a 3d printer but I'll get a company to do it for me) Do you know if the stl file on your webpage has been printed and tested? Or should I just get one printed off first and test it?

Hi

I created it for Del16 and he hasn't provided feedback yet.

So I don't know if it turned out as expected.

Print it with 100pct infill. This will allow you to slightly modify the printed part if needed.

Greetings from the country where the crown princess is from down-under. You and I are almost family 😁

Please provide feedback.

Hi Ravested,  Nice work on the Beolab 4000s!  I like your setup.  I have a couple pairs of the speakers and would like to do the same.  Unfortunately, I'm not having any luck finding the STL for the Beolab 4K you've made.   Would you be able to point me in the right direction or could you share it with me?

Also, for your 'above the grille' test, what did you not like about the install?  Was it the "raised" look of the lamellae or was it not attaching well to the speaker?  I was about to model this myself.

Thanks!

Hi,

I will share the files later this weekend.

This gap isn't perfect. However you hardly see it as my speakers are black and they are wall mounted in 'portrait format'.

Thanks Ravsted.  And thanks in advance for sharing!

Actually, I think it looks quite clean. Really nice work!

My original post I was referring to your older comment "My plan keeping the original cover beneath the slats did not turn out very well. I changed the approach.".  My thoughts were to do the same, and fasten the 3Dprinted lamellae holder on top of the 'original cover' with magnets in the printed part.  What were the difficulties with your 'over the original cover' approach?

My suspicion is that the lamellae stick out foo far from the speaker when installed this way.

Thanks again!

Link to STL files.

I am personally using the Beolab 7.2 and Beolab 4000 brackets. And after several month the oak lamellas still fit perfectly. The top lamella on the Beolab 7.2 is held in place with double sided adhesive tape. All other lamellas are just a tight fit.

The Beolab 1 bracket was made for user Del16. I do not know if it actually fits as intended.

Print with 100% infill.

Beolab 1:

Gap width: 4mm

Beolab 4000:

link

Gap width: 4.2 mm

Beolab 7.2:

link

Gap width: 4.5 - 4.7 mm

I really like the idea of the wood replacements for the Beolab 4000's but why do they all have that large gap at the top? It really takes away from the fit and finish.

Agree.... However, in my case you don't really see it due to speaker color and placement.

I see two ways of solving it.

1. The easy one: Cut a matching piece of wood to fill the gap.

2. The advanced one: Make more 'advanced' lamellas which are all individually made with a deeper top/bottom section.

Hi

Maybe I missed something, or I got a different version of the beolab 4000.

The printing was good so far but the holder won't snap on the steel clamps of the speaker.

Maybe there is a detailed picture of the holding on the speaker.

Mine looks like this

You can mirror the bracket before printing. This will allow you to get a version that can be inserted into the steel clip of the speaker from the side you prefer. This is a feature i the Cura print utility... Guess any other print utility has this option too...

Loosening the 3 torx screws will allow you to move the steel clip of the speaker to the position you prefer.

Hi

Already done, as I checked how it fits into the brackets I decided to mirror them so I could insert one from top and one from the downside.

So next way is to the hardware store to look what kind of wood lamellas they have to sell ;-))

Thanks once again for the file and support!

Christian
