Good day all,
I have not kept abreast of some of the previous threads and the rabbit holes the discussion goes.
Concisely, does anyone have a view on the inter-compatibility of the Eclipse Soundcenter and that of either 3rd party OLEDs or LG OLEDs?
1. What does the Soundcenter do? Sound, Sound Processing/Beolink etc....
2. Does the Soundcenter handle programming etc.? I tend to think not?
3. The connections between the Soundcenter and Panel seem to be Industry standard. So is the electronic handshake anything special?
4. I am not concerned over the mechanical fit
Any thoughts would be welcome.

The Eclipse Soundbar works with LG G1 and GX panels through the eARC protocol. The B&O app gets installed on the LG TV and this is how the TV and soundcenter communicate.
1. It works as an AV receiver, process audio signals and them to speakers. For more detail see: https://www.tonmeister.ca/wordpress/2017/09/15/bo-tech-its-not-just-a-soundbar/
2. No, the LG does that. Soundcenter is there only for the audio part.
3. It is a special collab between LG & B&O. The soundcenter doesn't work with other Oled TV as far as I know. There is also no B&O app for other tv's so even if it would work rudimentary you couldn't make any settings to the soundcenter.
4. Understandable, as you could hang the soundcenter apart from the TV. There are some examples on the forum where others have done this.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
The two responses so far....
1. Confirmed my technical suspicions with the roles of the Center and the panel.
2. i.e. the Center does not project Beolink/BeoApp function onto the screen but is instead handled via a discrete App in the LG smart TV
3. This could strongly suggest (depending on hardware/software access or locking) that the Center will work with any LG smart TV?
No, this is not the case, Only C, G and Z series.
But yes there should not be any problem in buying a Eclipse sound center, and get it to work with a 83" LG C1 OLED,

Mikipidia:To my understanding most of the remote functions actually go theought the ethernet side of things. If you don’t connect an ethernet cable between the panel and the soundcenter the remote does not function. This is the same for the stage if yoy wish to use a beoremote 1
That is readily done via the Center and the Panel (LAN/CTRL) Socket.
Hello there
Interesting topic, I am interested in if one day when the screen is no longer alive how I could use another panel with it as the sound C will definatly last more years than the OLED panel.
I am really interested with your mounting options and how it would fit in future.

Hi, this is my basic thrust of the thread. I have a Mk1 Eclipse 65, and although Im not anticipating issues yet, Im working up contingencies of "what if?"
I would be choked if B&O locked this screen into the Center and still kept the cr@ppy interface (worst of both worlds).
Mk1's are worth 2/5th of nothing on Trade-ins and this time around....I'd be damned if Im going to throw 12 grand at the same problem again and a replacement screen I believe is near to 5k on its own.
I would love to have the sound center for 55 inch Eclipse wall mounted for it self with a 65 inch LG GX wall mounted above. Like a Stage setup just with an eclipse sound center instead. There is a picture somewhere on this forum of one member who did it.
But how does one actually wall mount an Eclipse for it self? And what about the cutout in the top of the sound center? I have not seen how this looks without a TV inserted - I guess it does not look too good. Do people make a cover to hide this?
Can I use a LG G1 and GX panel with both Eclipse SoundCenter v1 and v2?
No. Eclipse mk1, gen1, v1 or whatever you wanna call it only supports the custom LG C7 made for B&O.Eclipse gen2 supports GX, G1 and hopefully anything newer as long as LG doesn't change the formfactor too much.

I have seen that some here in the forum have used an LG Oled C9 screen with Soundcenter v1. Why would it not work technically with a newer screen?
You're asking about the G series fitting / working with an Eclipse SC 1 no?
The G series is a different shape / form factor to the C series - so I dont believe it actually even fits the slot, if you know what I mean.
You may be able to use a G series with a SC 1 - with some minor physical separation between the two - in that the G series will download the B&O app and the SC1 may be able to talk to it properly (as if it were a c7 for example).
If you are happy doing that, check with your dealer if there is anything lost in the functionality / communication - it may be ok.
From memory someone on the forum did use a newer C series (i.e not a C7) with an Eclipse SC1.
