Has anybody ever come across stands like these?
They are not in good shape as the photos shows.
Everybody knows the trumpet stands and the square stands, that are quite iconic - but I have never seen ones like these.
Could these stands be a precursor?
I got them with a pair of Beovox 4702 and the top plate of the stands looks identical to some of the trumpet stands?
But is it a stretch to claim, that they are B&O?

Top plate is B&O.Same plate was used for several models with the trumpet stands.The stand itself could also be B&O. I cannot tell from these photos. Look underneath for a label.

I do not recall any labels, but I will have another look, when I take a few extra photos later today
My initial thought was that the stands could be same type as was used with Beovision 600, Beocenter 3500 and some of the older Beocord models -with or without wheels - but, looking closer, I don't think they are identical.
I shot a few additional photos last night.
I removed the bolt/top-plate on one of the stands and found, that the top bolt is screwed on to a rod, that runs all the way down and is screwed directly into the bottom part of the stand.
In my opinion, it seems to be built that way.
But still I'm baffled, that I can find no mentioning or photos of these stands anywhere on the web?

I'm quite sure they are B&O stands.Usually you would see the stand itself with wheels for use with TVs and tape recorders.The top plate was also used with some trumpet stands.See these from the 1967 catalogue:

They look very similar - no doubt about that - just remove the wheels, and voila
I might know a guy, that knows a guy, that possibly will be able to re-chrome the stands.
I would be correct to assume, that the feet themselves would have been chrome as well as the pole? And just the top-plate in black?
The cross is cast metal. It will not have been chromed.I believe it still shows its original hammerlacquer finish.
Alright, well, if I could keep the crosses in their current condition, it would simplify things quite a lot
Just wanted to relay some feedback from another group, that ads to your findings in regard to these stands.
Now we know, that they also came in a version without the wheels

Yes.I inspected a stand from my own collection, and it has a smooth silver'ish paint for the cross
so I'm no longer absolutely sure about the hammerlacquer being original.It does look a lot like that used on microphone bases etc. though, so it could be an earlier version.
Yup, the finish remains a bit of a mysterie.
I just now sent for a quote on re-chroming the the two pipes (the company is situated close to Aarhus) and I sent a few photos of the bottom cross asking them for advice, since they also do polishing of aluminium amongst many other highly specialized things, so they might have some idea - it's worth a try.
At this point - as there seems to be a lot of guesswork - I lean towards letting my choice of finish for the cross be dictated by the coherence of the look.
In an effort to explore all my options, I'm going to write Struer Museum, because I happen to know (from a reliable source), that they keep a group of old B&O staff in their basement.Hehe, well thats not quite true - but they have a group of seniors that meet up down there for restaurations of incoming B&O donations from people, to use in their exibition.Perhaps the museum would pass on a question about the stands to them? At least its worth a try and I if they can't/won't, I will have to bother my reliable source instead, to see if he can help with that ;-)
