AS we no longer have a cd /dvd player we have put all our holiday photos. i have a Beovision avant ng.
my question is can i use theusb connection on my tv to show my photos or is it just for service dept

Page 43 of the User manual from the B&O website seems to say you can plug in a USB drive and view pictures and gives instructions.
The manual says
USB socket - For connection of a USB device to browse digital photos, video or music files. If you connect a USB HDD or SSD, you can use it as an external hard disk recorder.
