BS Shape and receiver 1’s

Hi all,

I know I could use a Shape connected through PL to my Beovision as rear speakers (L/R).

Does anyone know if I could use two receiver 1’s instead to use the Shape as rear speaker over wisa?

In principle, the answer is "Yes".  However, the best solution will vary, depending on how many speakers/amplifiers are in the Shape and whether a wired connection is possible?

Please can you advise further on your system, so we can advise on the best way forward.

I’m investigating the possibilities for a Shape in my setup. I’ve 18’s for rears and they are a bit far away for proper surround setup. Maybe a Shape for rear speakers and moving the 18’s closer to use them as surround is my way forward.

It is hard to wire the Shape directly to my Harmony. So therefore looking for a wisa solution. I would start with a Shape with one amplifier but think I’ll be adding more speakers to the mix in future.

I like the Shape a lot and would be a nice addition for my interior decoration also!

I don't have a shape, but I recently saw a YT video that explained that when you design a Shape via B&O's website, software will be downloaded to the Shape with a speaker algorithm for your particular installation( voices through the middle, music through the outside speakers.

Adding speakers afterwards will need new software and algorithm to make te speakers sound well.

Please don't worry - this video (sorry I don't have the link) refers to the "Band on the wall" function that only works when the Shape is used in its usual configuration with the Core inside.

When using a simple (1 Amplifier, 4 Speakers) Shape as TV speakers without a Core, the Shape Amplifier needs to be reprogrammed by your B&O dealer to allow it to function purely as a stereo speaker system.  This can be done in either a direct wired setup, or wireless via 2 x Receiver 1s.  I can help with cables for either option if required.
