I brought Beolab 5 speakers on ebay they arrived today I connected to my beocenter 2300 they are flashing green and red.

I look in manual and it says they need pin code the seller says do not need pin code.

Manual says when enter pin numbers the speaker will emit a bell sound after entering every digit and thats exactly what they are doing.

Have I now lost all my money because seller does not have a pin code

Seller says he has never had a pin code

If the Beolab 5 plays for several minutes and then shuts off, then it needs a pincode.
Does the BL5 calibrate? If there is a pincode, then it will not calibrate.

It should at least play, even with a pincode required.

With an invoice or prove of payment you migtht ask for a mastercode when a pincode is lost at a dealer.

I have called the local B&O shop the man asked for serial number so i gave it him but only one speaker has serial number the other does not.

He give me pin code for speaker with serial number on it it is now no longer flashing red and greenbut now flashing green for over 5 minutes now.

The other speaker without serial number is still flashing green and red i will probably have to open the speaker or have a tevhnician turn up to find its serial number.

Still i do not have any sound.

Ebay seller says both speakers worked fine and he never needed a pin code. This is what happens when you buy from ebay.

Serialnumber should be found at the bottom of the midrange. AFAIK you will not find a serialnumber inside. But not sure about that.
With the servicetool on the dealer's laptop, he can read the serialnumber from the chassis.

Both speakers now work with line in but not powerlink from my beocenter 2300

The one without serial number has no pin code yet it switches off after 5 mins then have to switch on again by pressing radio on beo 4, glad if technician can find out serial number from chasis will find out pin soon.

The one that works flashes green the whole time whilst playing.

I press button on top of both speakers but neithers mic works.

Beolab 5 needs fully wired PL cables. Otherwise there will be no sound.

Flash green light: Missing calibration. Calibration was not carried out correctly due to a defective microphone, or there was “noise”/sound reflections during calibration.

1. try to calibrate the speaker.
2. Get to your dealer and change your microfone.

L-opt 0 is factory setting. Used with powerlink cables.

L-opt is for use with Line input socket and Beo4 radio command.

I have put the beo4 into option 0 now when i press cd both the beloab 5 speaker and beocenter 2300 switch on but there is no sound.

I try the right left switch on beolab 5 still no success.

I have ordered new powerlink mk2 cables for the beolab 5's.

Also i have noticed 1 of the forward facing woofers is making no sound how much is a replacement?

Also how do i remove the beolab 5 covers?

Many thanks for all your help guys
