are there any videos or information on how to replace a belt on the above system,

Take off the pickup cartridge and store it a safe place.Take off the platter. (It lifts right off, but may bind a bit).Losen two screws from below, one each side.Lift up the top aluminium plate a bit, pull it forward and up just enough to undo the connector for the panel buttons - and take it off.Now the belt is in plain view and easily replaced.Most of these decks will also need the motor bracket bushings replaced as the original bushings are known to give way and the motor sags down.

so are the bushings the small red items,and are they difficult to change? Would this be why the sound is distorted or could that be a platter problem?
The motor suspension bushings are the small red ones.They are not difficult to replace. Just take out the screws and the small cylindrical spacers, remove the remains of the old bushings and fit the new using the spacers and screws again.They must be replaced, if the motor has sagged down (most have by now).
If the sound is distorted, it's most likely a cartridge problem. Wrong tracking force, worn stylus, badly aligned tonearm or a worn record.
Now I have succeeded in all the above but the platter is not running central, are there adjustments for this?
Is the belt very tight - Wrong belt? - Ebay belt?

If it's tight, I suggest you don't use it and return it for a refund.It should work on "friction rather than tightness".

I couldn’t work out where the bushings are and I realised it was because I didn’t any!!
