Hey guys,
I decided to finally take the leap and open up my MS150's to get the 8 inch drivers out for refoaming. Taking the front of the cabinet of was fairly easy and I got the woofers out.
I just don't see how you remove the outer trim ring from the driver. I guess you have to start prying somewhere, but I'd thought I better ask before I scratch or break parts. I did remove the ring onto which the sonatube attaches. The speaker kind of looks like it's just clamped into the trim.
Is it just that the rubber surround has gone to hard to speaker is completely stuck in the outer trim ring?
Well, I hope anyone who has done this job before can give me some help.

Already found the solution myself...
I also took out the driver from the second cabinet which gave me a lot less trouble. The yellowish gasket was just extremely sticky and it just required more force to get the speaker of the trim ring.
So, problem solved, time to start refoaming!

Edit: Why only the 8 inch drivers? The 10 inch drivers will definitely also need to be refoamed, if they haven't been and are the original ones.
Just done mine about 6 months ago - then sold them to Glen - doh!

Since it didn't happen without pics:
As you can see, the first picture also shows the reason why I don't need to replace the foam on the 10 inch driver. The entire unit has been replaced quite some time ago.
I tried to find specifications on the driver, but it looks Soundlab doesn't even exist anymore. Do you think it would be wise to replace it? I can imagine there probably is a mismatch between the crossover and the non-original driver.
Does anyone have specifications on the original driver? I remember reading somewhere they used Peerless (or Vifa?) drivers, what kind? Would this be a suitable replacement?

Any recommendations? I'm not sure if I want to replace it, since it works fine, although I don't know what it should sound like. I did think the speakers were slightly low on bass, so I cranked up the bass on the Beomaster all the way. Maybe it's just me being of the "bass generation" :P

I've installed the new surrounds today and put the drivers back in the cabinet's face.
I'm still in doubt whether I should replace the 10 inch Soundlab driver with a proper Peerless SLS-263. They are €85 each and I'm not sure if it's worth it. What do you guys think?
