Way to go!
I remember, when swotting for my college exams, the B&O guy came to install my 5000 system and RL60's..............I was blown away for days on end, just listening to DETAIL. Of course there was much better to be had, but not better looking and all unbeknown to me and beyond my budget anyways!
I'm looking at it as I type this! - maybe, for your son's benefit, you can explain when It was new and the fact that I still have it and it's in regular use (although I've given up vinyl)
Ban boring signatures!
Gave my son a BM 1900 and a pair of P45, all from Martin 2011 Xmas, and offered him a BG from here, but he does not go into vinyl, not even CDs, running his friggin fruit company player through it. Well one day, one day.
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.

I missed the vinyl train, and never had the energy to catch it. Would be a fun hobby though I'm sure.

I bought two 7000 systems and one record. Sold one of the 7000 systems and put the other one in storage. No I have to figure out what to do with that record.

Funny you should mention that. One of our new employees who is in his early 20s recently asked if I can source him a B&O turntable. I thought he was pulling my leg. He asked again the other day. He is serious. He says that some of the LP versions of classic albums are warmer and he wants a turntable to play them.
Maybe there's hope yet :)
I'm in my later 20s and recently bought a nice old BeoGram 3500. I do love the analogue warmth and commitment to listening to an album properly without flicking from track to track on a computer screen. It's sourcing the vinyl that is a bit of a chore!

Pffft, a Beogram 3500 isn't "old" - My two Beogram 4000's from 1972 and '73 are
Vinyl records, cassettes, open reel, valve amplifiers and film photography.
I recently hooked up my BG3300 with a new cartridge and am redesovering my old recold collection.
As someone recently said in another post its the vinyl ceromony which adds pleasure to the listening experence. Another bonus is that a number of new releases on vinyl come with a download code so you can have them on your computer system as well.
I have a BeoGram9500 connected to my BeoSound3000 but all my albums are in the loft and have been for years. I now can't wait to get home from work and bring a selection down. My son is home from uni for the weekend, we can spend my day off tomorrow listening to my youth :-)

My son - 18 years old - was on a three day skating tour with friends some time ago.
When he came back home, he had an exciting looking bag. It was filled with four or five records he bought in a second life shop.
They have lived in an apartment that had in the livingroom a whole wall filled with records from floor to ceiling, and they have listened the whole night to music from the seventies. That let him buy some records the next day.
Back home a record player was missing. He got one of my Beograms - a BG3300 that he connected to his BM3300.
Now his record collection is growing every week...:)

5 years ago, my nephew (then at the age of 21) asked me to find him a turntable. Offcourse I agreed to find one - and offcourse it should be a B&O I found a nice Beogram 2404 for him, which he is still using...And now he has asked me to find a nice Beovision MX 4000 for him He is a student, and don't have lots of Money - but he knows how to appreciate quality and good design.No cheap LCD flatscreens - no watching tv on his computer - Just a well designed B&O tv And maybe later when he starts to earn good Money, he will buy a new B&O tv. There is still hope for the new generations...
