Question 1
What is the frequency range of my BeoLab 19 subwoofer?

Question 2
If I add a pair of BeoLab 28 to my system will the bass management redirection logic table send the bass signal to a BeoLab 28 or to the BeoLab 19 subwoofer?

Question 3
Please may you publish an updated bass management redirection logic table which includes BeoLab 17, 18, 19, 20, 28, 50 & 90 as more people are using an Eclipse, Harmony, or Contour with home speakers in a movie format.

Answer 1
From searching the forum, I found a Geoff Martin answer “For the BL19 it’s 21 Hz – 900 Hz”.  Has anyone tested this?

Answer 2
The specs for the BeoLab 28 are “27 - 23,000 Hz”, so bass should still go to the BeoLab 19 subwoofer, but my dealer says this is not the case in the showroom.

Answer 3
Is there an updated table listing the BeoLab 28?

Present: Eclipse 55” Gen 2 with motorised wall bracket.  Plus 2 x pairs of BeoLab 17 + 1 x BeoLab 19 using WiSA to the soundcenter.

Also LG 55” C9 + BeoSound Stage in another room.  And 2 x A1 Gen1 as PC speakers.

Past: Eclipse 55 Gen 1 and before that an Avant 55” MK1.

Hi,

Customer Care can't answer these questions because I haven't provided the answers for them... So, you can blame me personally for this.

Question 1: There's no real answer to this question for the reason I explained in this web post about how B&O defines Frequency Range.

Question 2: I can't answer this until I get back to work in January. I need to check on the measured capabilities of the speakers to be able to answer it. If you can't wait until January, you could lie to your television and add a pair of BL28s in the Speaker Connections menu on an unused Power Link connector. Then make a new Speaker Group with the 28s and a 19. Then go into the Bass Management menus to find out what it decided.

Question 3: I'll spend some time making the table - but since I have to do this manually, it won't happen quickly - sorry. Note, however, that it won't apply to Contour, since it don't have any outputs for external loudspeakers.

Cheers

Thank you, & apologies Geoff.

I appreciate you replying personally.  You are a great ambassador for B&O and the oracle when it comes to anything technical we may dream of asking.

Sorry for the thread title, I have asked a series of questions in the past few weeks via the Customer Care form, each time with the refer to your dealer response… I didn’t realise they were being investigated.

I will wait patiently as I can imagine you are extremely busy.  Also my asks are quite specific, and I now understand also manual to answer, so not something you can complete quickly.

The table is such a reference so I am sure a 2022 update will be something many will want to read when published.

Wishing you a wonderful festive time, filled with magical moments to treasure well past decorations being taken down.

Simon

Geoff, thank you; you are a superstar for turning this round so quickly!

I found the updated Technical Sound Guide dated 05 January 2022 with the complete bass management filtering table, now including BeoLab 28.

I hope others will find this as interesting a read as I do.

Some questions are easier to answer than others, if you know who to ask for help... :-)

Note that I cleaned up a couple of errors here and there in the document while I was in there. Nothing life-altering, though... Just a typo or three.

Cheers
