I bought a Beosound 9000 MK 2,  type 2561. Nothing happens when connected to power - no lights.

I will try to fix it, but how do I manually remove or open the glass door ?

Hi,

To fix Beosound 9000 you need a service manual + BEO4 remote control.
As I remember from the service manual you can open glass door using some force.
Then, having it opened you may unscrew it and take out.

The glass door can be opened "by force".

You need to have the unit flat on a surface, and then with a firm grip with two hands under the front of the glass, you pull it up in the same direction it would open normally with a quick motion. There will be resistance, and you will feel the lid going out of the hinge to the right, and being loose after this, therefore the 2 hands. It can be scary, but it is designed for this as an emergency opening procedure. It is not something that should be used for opening, because it will wear out the hinge clamping device, and then it cannot stay open by itself anymore.

But, a quick warning. If the glue is about to go loose on the glass hinges, this can cause the glass to snap of the hinges, and needs to be re-glued. However, there are no other ways of getting the glass opened on a unit without lid power.

Once you have the lid "loose", you can get to the 2 screws that hold the lid in place at the hinges. It could be great to have another person there to hold the glass secure, while loosening the 2 screws. Make sure not to twist the glass while loosening the 2 screws, keep it as steady and correct in place until both screws are loose, and then you can lift up the glass at put it away.
