All,
First post on beoworld, but have been reading a lot of post in the last few months.
I have decided to buy my first B&O product. Once I have visited the factory in Struer and since then I am sold to B&O. I realize the V1 is not a pure B&O design, but I really like it. I have decided to buy a V1-40 inch but still have two questions you might be able to help me with.
1. BracketI want to buy the V1 because it is just not a TV but also a design furniture piece. However difficult to choose the stands. The floor and table stand position the TV very close to the floor and looks a bit weird. On the other hand, I don't want to put it on a cabinet because that would ruin the minimal design in my opinion. The wall bracket seems interesting to position the TV a bit higher (on eye level) but I heard you cannot install it on an internal thin gypsum dry wall. Ceiling mount, well that sounds a very difficult and expensive set up with wiring etc. I plan to only add an Apple TV and use a CI+ module, so storage of other devices is not a problem. Which option are you using and do you think the wall and floor stand directly on the floor are too low to watch the TV comfortably?
2. speaker set upI want to use the great (surround) sound qualities of the TV, but I don't have the budget for beolab 5's :)I was thinking about good quality second life beolab 6000 and a beolab 11. Would the beolab 11 enhance the sound a lot or is the standard 40 inch subwoofer decent enough? If adding the beolab 6000s, would you place them front (and use V1 as center speaker) or at the back (and use V1 speakers for front)?Any other suggestions?
Thanks a lot
Good morning,
I have a V1 (also my first new B&O purchase) and I'm running it with some second-life Labs and I'm very happy with it - I've had it nearly a year now.
I think getting some second hand Lab 6000s is a great idea. Personally I'd place them at the front and then setup a stereo-only speaker group (if like me, you want to use the TV as a stereo - most of the time I just use the stereo fronts with the screen muted). I think then the sub would be a great compliment.
The inbuilt speakers are pretty decent but don't give the full stereo spread of separate speakers of course.
I think it looks good on on the floor stand on a basic, low AV cabinet or box - so it can still lean back. I agree the other mounting options look like quite alot of hassle.

Welcome to the forum, welcome to the world of B and O ownership, and congratulations on your V1. I would agree that a pair of 6000s would be great. Watching TV with the as fronts and the V1 as center would be wonderful.

I have a V1 and can recommend a BL11 as it improves the sound significantly.
