Hi,
I have a few issues with my 7700 tape player.
I took it out because the belts need to be replaced. No problem taking it out of course, very easy. However, as soon as i took it out, three "bits" fell out of it. I have attached photos of these bits.
1. Black piece of plastic with a hole on one end. Definitely has broken off somewhere.
2. Metallic bit with a black plastic block screwed into it. I have a photo attached indicating (circled) where this piece fell from.
3. Small ball bearing, looks to be around 3mm.
Before I continue sourcing the belts, does anyone know anything about these bits? Can any of these parts be sourced from somewhere or has anyone had any luck fixing them?
Or would the best solution be to source another tape unit?
Thank you for any help.
Clean the black block and the area around the hole with IPA.Glue the block with leaf spring back into position at the hole, you've marked, using a good 2-comp. epoxy. When fully set, fit the steel ball back under its leaf.
The curvy bit is the casting counterpart from the reverse side. You can throw it away.
Belts, idler wheel rubber parts etc. available from Beoparts-shop.
Martin
Thank you Martin, much appreciated!
Good to hear I can get this tape unit up and running.
Just a few more questions, I apologise if the they're naive or newb-ish. I'm technically minded, but not in this field, so I'm trying to wrap my head around things - it's enjoyable.
Can I glue (with epoxy) the black block with leaf spring directly to the metallic frame and will I also need to delicately glue it back to the bits that were connected to it?
Also, I've attached a photo, do I simply fit the steel ball under the leaf spring (circled) once the epoxy has set and that's it?
Out of interest, what does this component do, what is it responsible for?
Thank you for the link. I'll be putting in an order soon.
Cheers

Just glue it to the metal base plate.

That's it.

It's a hold-down for the tapehead bridge. It's there to stabilize it and keep it in the same height at all times.
Man, thank you so much for helping me out! Seriously awesome!
