Hi Everyone,
I want to build up my B&O collection. Now I want to find Beocenter 9500.
So my question is what is the right price range for this unit?
Cheers,
Pete
Where are you situated?
The Danish market is low at the moment, a good 9500 with a Beo4 can be had for about £130.-
I guess that the UK market is similar with about 30-50% higher prices because of the relatively small concentration of B&O there.
Vinyl records, cassettes, open reel, valve amplifiers and film photography.
Hi Hammer,
I live in Finland.
Can you provide some direct links to the Danish pages where I can found Beocenter 9500 in that price range? I would appreciate that a lot.
Here you go

No affiliation.
I send email to both of these sellers without respond.
Hammer do you happen to live near neither of these units? :)
Are these fixed prices or do you have to bid on? I think the last one...
Don't forget the huge shipping cost...

Really?
Here in France people are either mad or just greedy and it is impossible to find a well cared for Beocenter 9500 - or even a 9000 - at less than 800 euros!
Hence my not having one...
It may be that in native Denmark they are so ubiquitous that they are unwanted.

Same here. Spend 600+ or prepare for a long wait (and repairs). Most of the Finnish sellers are dreamers, though - I very rarely see them actually getting sold...
Personally I would want a LOT extra for my troubles before I'd agree to pack & ship a 9000 series Beocenter! I can well understand if a seller doesn't even bother replying to an inquiry from abroad. I believe Denmark is one of the more expensive countries to ship from as well.

Here is good example of Finish pricing:

Beocenter 9500 + Beolink 1000 . 1050eur
Wow, this makes me feel very grateful to have inherited a nice 9500 from my grandparents. I'll hold onto it I think!
It would cost approximately 90€ to send a BeoCenter 9500 from Denmark to Finland, so it looks like you could save quite a lot - But shipping a large, heavy BeoCenter does of course also involve a risk of it being damaged if not packed properly...
Please be aware, that the first BeoCenter Søren Hammer has linked to, should work perfect and be in good cosmetic condition according to the description, while the last one has some problems with the CD player and is missing a description of the cosmetic condition.

Oh, I sold my too cheaply then. 500€ serviced. And BC 9000 with Beolink 450€, also serviced. With those prices selling time was few weeks.
blah-blah and photographs as needed
I bought a very nice BC9500 for 2000 SEK (about 230 Euro today) in 2011. Usually they ask for more, especially the dealers that trade with vintage B&O.
The prices are not fixed on dba.dk, it's kinda like craigslist.
I paid 400 DKK (about €55) for a nice Beocenter 9300 from 1998 with a Beo4 remote in 2011, but that was a once-in-a-lifetime deal in a second hand shop. I traded it to a restorated Beomaster 6000 4 Channel and still regret it - the 6000 is a mighty fine design and a piece of my collection, but the 9300 was actually used in my bedroom setup with the timers, CD player and double tape recorder loop. I want a 9500 next time.
Hubbe:
Did you buy that 9500 from Dillen/Martin freshly serviced?
If yes I was the one that brought it to Martin but due to a different offer from the same seller I had to let it go and Martin sold it to Sweden.
That 9500 was on dba.dk for a while. Lousy picture but the price was 1000DKR. That was 2 years ago. With Martin's service I got my money back on it.
The panels can be loose on these and kept upright they may fall of which happend with the above 9500. That is why they need to be very well packed for any shipping!

Thats about what I have paid from my BCs. Service, cleaning, complety checkout, and somebody can get a fully functioning BC.
Making them back to live is my hobby.

If it makes you feel any better. You are not alone. I don´t mind spending money to keep my B&O equipment in good condition.
So we can make fast conclusion that Danish guys has the lowest prices.
Is there any brave Danish Beoworld member how could arrange me BC9500? Of course if someone has extra 9500 laying around in some other European country I could also go with that
You can give PM so wont get 700 request to find BC 9500.

There is couple BCs in huutonet, But serviced? I doubt.
There are three BC9500 for sale in Sweden at the moment. I don´t think any of them are serviced recently.

Yes there is couple of BC9000 but it hasn't got the Power Link connection. Also find one BC8500 but all ready the price is 500€.
I would rather find the BC9500.
I like to fix B&O stuff so it is no problem if the unit hasn't been serviced. All the present units that I have from B&O I have bought broken. Of course bad cosmetic condition is hard to fix . For example change of capacitors to BC9xxx is no problem.

This was very good tip from user Bos00. I contacted the seller but unfortunately unit was all ready sold. 150€ of BC9500 with speakers was bargain! Thanks anyway for the hint!
The BC9500 is the one piece of B&O gear I just don't even bother with despite it being one of the pieces I'd like to have in my collection. Unless one comes up for absolute auction WITH its original box, I find that there are always two constants with the systems that show up in the US. Either they are badly in need of repair/loose glass/broken, or the sellers are up in the clouds on their pricing... The last fully working system that was on offer here was being sold at US $1300.00 which is absolutely absurd IMO. Checking the sold items I see that seller actually sold that unit for a still ridiculous $1104.99 (item number 300875579325). Considering the last mint one offered up on auction went for 515.00, that is more than twice that number.
I would much rather (and have finally bit the bullet on one) apply those funds to a BeoSound 9000 first. So I now have a BeoSystem 2500 which I'm slowly selling off, the Beomaster 7000 and in the next few days hopefully will have a BS9000 as well. The biggest reason the BC9500 and BM7000 ever appealed to me in the first place, was the two way communication that works with the BeoLink 7000. Well I have that in spades with the BM7000 anyway, so the 9000 is the art piece and the 7000 is the workhorse. Don't really see any need to mess with the 9500 at this point. Not to mention the fact that I don't really have room for it nor can I wall mount anything in my apartment.
Truly mint BC9500 are getting more and more rare every where, not just the US and hence are getting expensive. Supply and demand, I'm afraid.

It's certainly more visually appealing and it's nice how the CD and cassette doors are motorized, but for someone who doesn't use either of those features much I don't find it to be worth nearly five or six times as much as the average used 7000 (receiver only) in functional condition. The bigger concern to me was compatibility with the Beolink 7000 which I *CAN* use daily and with which the BM7000 is flawless.
That the 9500 is a work of art is certainly not in question, though I simply chose to invest that cost in a Beosound 9000 which is even more visually arresting and easier to track down in mint shape. Unfortunately, I probably don't have the willpower to overcome the temptation of a 9500 if I ever come across a mint one.
