Hello,
The left channel of Beomaster 901 has just started to play up and wondered if anybody had any suggestions on how to fix it? When I plug the speaker into the left channel I have to wiggle the DIN plug around for it to work. It works fine when it's in exactly the correct position, but then if the wire is moved or the DIN plug touched it stops working, then I have to play around with it again to get it working again.
It's not the speaker wire itself as it works perfectly in the other channel. I wondered if the DIN socket needs cleaning or if it a connection has come loose? I'm not an expert yet so didn't want to open it up until I had an idea of what i'm looking for!
Hope that make sense? Any ideas are much appreciated.
Thanks, Rich
It does sound like a bad solder or bad jack, try cleaning first, and then open the BM and check the jack connections.
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
Thanks Søren, how would you suggest cleaning it?
You can add a little more tension to the pins inside the DIN speaker sockets by inserting a very small flat-bladedscrewdriver (watchmakers size) and prod the pins carefully a bit towards eachother. That will give a bettercontact to the pin and blade of the speaker plugs.

Add mineral spirit or IPA to the pins on the plug, insert and pull out a couple of times, then use Deoxit in the same way, and then use Martins good advice.
Thanks chaps, i'l give it a try and let you know how I get on!
