Hi there,
I was given a lovely vintage B&O set for my birthday consisting of a Beogram 1203, a Beomaster 1200 and some B&O speakers. Now, the Beomaster works really well, but the Beogram had some (unexpected) problems when we tried it out. We had it serviced and now it runs all fine.
Except... when I first set up everything after servicing, only the left speaker had output. I then went to check where that problem lied. So to test this quickly I carefully stuck a paperclip end in the 5-DIN inputs of the Beomaster and both speakers reacted fine. So it must be somewhere between the tonearm and the 5-DIN output of the Beogram. I tested it again, and now there is no output at all, from neither speakers
I'm a little hesitant to break open a recently-serviced Beogram. Therefore, does anyone know the most likely cause of this defect?
All the best,
Olof
