The white on my Beogram 8002 type 5635 limited edition has become more yellow and I would like to restore it.

Does anyone know the exact colour that B&O used? A Pantone reference perhaps.

Hello cprtrk, welcome.

I remember having seen another thread about this and found this one in old forum: https://archivedarchivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/32181.aspx. In that thread there is reference to NCS 0500 as a white colour for an MX8000 TV. There is no reference to a source.

I have no idea if this is the same colour as what you need (800(2) sounds period correct at least), but maybe the reference to NCS helps?

Regards,

Johan

Many thanks Johan,

The wealth of knowledge held on this forum is very impressive. I clearly need to spend more time searching!

Hi.

If the beolab 8000 system from new was the same color as the sc80.2 stereo bench,i have found a color that matches quite well.

Here you can clearly see the difference

The reason for the big difference is that it was plastik laminate on the beolab 8000 system and the stereo bench was painted, and the paint does not turn yellow like the laminate with time.

Is it possible to paint over the laminate?

Hi BeoFrederic.

Yes you can paint the laminate, just remember to use a plastic primer before painting.

Henrik.
